My name is Juanita Cartine and I have been an early childcare professional for over 17 years.  My career in the field blossomed from my time as a Head Start parent in Maine.  I took a course offered at my daughter's Head Start class and upon completion was hired as a substitue.  I was a very busy substitute.  A few months later I was hired permanently as a center aide and worked my up to an assistant teacher.  I got my first job as a lead teacher in New Jersey back in 2002.  In 2003 I moved to South Carolina and began working at The Sunshine House.  I held the position of teacher for 2 and a half years and was promoted to assistant director in January of 2006.  I just recently hit my 5 year mark with the company and became a stock owner.  I do not know what the future may hold, but one thing's for sure....my future is in early childhood education.
